Plunders & Blunders

Misadventures Every Monday!

A live-play D&D podcast where 6 friends sit around a table, drink, and tell a story of magic, mayhem, and mystery. Together they weave the tale of a crew of misfits seeking answers, thrills, and revenge. Sometime it's epic, sometimes it's silly, but it's always an adventure.

Chapter 3, Parts 3 & 4 are available!

It's high time we see this Chapter's thrilling/revealing conclusion! This was actually where the material I had written for our first session had ended. I obviously wrote way too much for our first session, which was nice, and our group argues quite a bit. You can, of course listen here, iTunes, or copy and paste our RSS feed into the podcast reader of your choice. If all goes according to plan, there are 2 more double episode weeks in store for March, and April will begin the official launch of the podcast on iTunes when we hit Chapter 5. Fingers crossed! Until then, thanks for listening and being a part of our adventure.

Chapter 3, Parts 1 & 2 are available!

You've already torn through the first 7 episodes and can't wait for more? Well we can't either, parts 1 & 2 of Chapter 3 are  now available! Better sound quality! More NPC's! Bigger mistakes! It's all uphill from here, so please join us for the ride. Listen here! Or on iTunes!

Why two episodes this week?

Because, faithful listener, the sooner we can get through the less good audio, the sooner we get to the nicer sounding audio, and get ourselves onto iTunes.

Aren't you already on iTunes?

While our podcast is accessible through iTunes, we are not searchable on iTunes yet, that requires a submission processes which we will be going through as soon as we reach Chapter 5.

Will you always release 2 episodes on Mondays?

That's the current plan for Chapter 3. If I can pull it off for Chapter 4 as well, I will. Then we'll return to a 1 episode per week.

Will there be any exceptions?

Possibly. If I get far enough ahead on editing, I'd be happy to do release finished chapters earlier than scheduled. And I really don't want to take more than 1 month per chapter, so even if there are more than 4 parts per Chapter, they will still all be released in a 4 week period. That's the plan, anyway.

So there you have it. 2 episodes this week. 2 episodes next week. Maybe for the rest of March.  (If I can keep this schedule up). Thank you for listening. You are great. Hope you enjoy Chapter 3! (Also, Happy Birthday, Me!)

Website & Updates!

Oh hey, friend. I say friend because if you're reading this, you are literally a close, personal friend of somebody in the cast. Thank you for checking out our podcast. Originally, this post was a long rambly paragraph which was terrible to read. So behold, mild organization:

WEBSITE-

Yes, we have a website. Let's call this a "soft open" as there are still some details missing here and there. Mostly in the cast and characters pages.

SOCIAL MEDIA-

Yep, we're on twitter, too. Click here to check out our twitter page. This will be our primary means of communication between ourselves and our fan (you) for now. And if you follow our twitter, you'll know exactly when we post updates here about the show.

ARTWORK -

We'll be using Gina De Vivo's drawing of her character, Windsgar, as the art for our podcast and twitter until we find a more permanent show piece. But, for now, revel in the squirrel scavenging beauty that is Windsgar.

PODCAST -

The reason you're here, presumably. First thing's first, you can listen to it on "The Podcast" page. Also, you can plug our RSS feed (link here) into the podcasting app of your choice. Chapter 1 & 2 are currently available. Chapter 3 will begin next Monday.

THE SOUND -

Honestly, the podcast came about because Elly recorded our first session on her iPhone, which is not the industry standard for podcasting. After that, I set my Yeti mic in the middle of the table hoping it would sound better. It was marginally better, but not great. Then, we upgraded to lavs for everyone at the table. They are not studio quality microphones, but they drastically focus and improve the sound for each person's voice, and allow us to continue to play the game relatively unencumbered. And it's mobile, which is rad.

THE PLAN -

Remember earlier when I called this a "soft open"? The audio quality of the first 4 chapters is lacking, and we want to step out of the gate with our best foot forward. So starting Next Monday, I'll begin posting a new episode every week. These regular updates will get me in the swing of scheduling, editing, and posting consistently as I aim to do for the duration of the podcast, thus preparing me for the the coming months and our iTunes debut. Additionally, when we get to Chapter 5 and go to iTunes, we will have a respectable library of episodes; listeners will be able to make the choice of starting from the beginning of the adventure, or from the point at which our sound drastically improves. As players and a DM, I think we also improve by that point, but I'm biased.

FINAL THOUGHTS -

I'm very excited about this whole project. It's so much fun to play this game with such wonderful people. Sharing the adventure with you is something I'm really looking forward to. I really hope you like it. Listen. Follow. And if you really like it, share. Because the best adventures are the ones you take with friends.

OOF THAT WAS CHEESY... HAPPY MONDAY!!!
